Hannah + Ricky’s wedding at the historic fort vancouver trust + pearson air museums what the perfect mix between modern + traditional with the ceremony taking place at the providence academy chapel and the reception at the pearson air museum using a very monochromatic decor at the reception to elevate the space into that modern look they were going for.

They got ready separately with their friends + bridal party on the same floor as each other, just a couple rooms apart. Hannah and Ricky had two people stand up with them at the ceremony but there were other people they wanted to include so they decided to make those special people their something blue. Each person wore a blue outfit and during the reception we all snuck away to get a photo of Hannah and her something blues.

Something that was really important to Hannah + Ricky is that nothing was forced or posed. We did everything as it happened and me and my second photographer documented as is. Because of this, they didn’t do a first look because it was important for them to have that moment at the ceremony in the company of all of their friends and family.

Hannah + Ricky chose the providence academy chapel for the ceremony because that was where hannah’s mom and late father got married years before. They had their ceremony in front of all of their friends and family in attendance. I really loved this choice for the location’s architecture and especially the sentimental meaning for the bride.

After the ceremony, we did a couple photos inside of the venue in a couple amazing spots I saw earlier that morning during getting ready + such.

After the ceremony, we drove over to the reception at the pearson air museum where they did a grand entrance, specialty dances– mother, son + mother, daughter (and hannah’s sister’s joined them). After all of that, we snuck out for photos. We did their couples photos around sunset for the best light at the in the field. I really like to do a couple portraits after the ceremony when they’re still in that headspace after the ceremony. After their couples portraits, a family friend had brought their dog to come celebrate, Max was so excited to see mom and dad and was so excited to see all of their family and friends who were outside the venue.

and then the dance floor opened and the party began.
